Plagiarism Policy
The Journal of Islamic Economic and Halal Industry is highly committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. We strictly prohibit any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, data fabrication, and data falsification.
By submitting a manuscript to this journal, authors declare that their work is entirely original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
1. Plagiarism Screening Process To ensure the originality of all published content, every manuscript submitted to the journal will undergo a rigorous similarity check before being forwarded to the Editorial Board for desk review and the subsequent double-blind peer-review process. The journal utilizes industry-standard plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin or iThenticate, to measure the similarity index of the manuscript against previously published works.
2. Similarity Threshold To maintain academic rigor and quality, the journal applies the following similarity limits:
-
The maximum acceptable overall similarity index is 20%.
-
The similarity from any single source must not exceed 5%.
-
Exclusions may be applied to the bibliography/reference list, properly quoted text, and specific methodological terminology, subject to the Editor's discretion.
3. Types of Plagiarism The journal considers the following actions as plagiarism:
-
Copying text, ideas, images, or data from other sources without proper citation (using the APA format).
-
Paraphrasing someone else's work without providing clear attribution.
-
Self-Plagiarism: Re-using significant portions of the author's own previously published work without proper citation or justification.
4. Sanctions for Plagiarism If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process, the journal will take the following actions based on the severity of the case:
-
During Initial Screening: If the similarity index exceeds 20%, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision, or it may be directly rejected.
-
During Peer Review: The review process will be halted, and the manuscript will be outright rejected. The corresponding author's institution may be notified.
-
After Publication: If plagiarism is discovered after an article is published, the journal will conduct a formal investigation. If proven guilty, the article will be formally retracted from the journal's website, and a retraction notice will be published. The authors may also be banned from submitting future manuscripts to this journal.
